Waterways Conclave 2022

IRS participated in the Waterways Conclave held in Dibrugarh Assam on 11th & 12th April.

The event was well attended by dignitaries including Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Chief Minister of Assam. Several ministers and officials from Union as well as State Government also graced the occasion.

Key highlights of the event:

• During the inauguration of the exhibition, our stand was visited by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush.

• Our Vice President – Cdr K.K. Dhawan spoke at the Breakout Technical Session 2: Inland Vessel Act and Rules & made a presentation on ‘Advantages of IV Act and Draft Rules including Safety of Inland Vessels’. This session was well received and several questions pertaining to the IV Rules were responded.

• IRS signed an MOU with Government of Tripura for development of inland waterways.
