Sea Trial Analysis: STA

• Sea Trial Analysis (STA) JIP was initiated in 2002 by Shell, P&O/Nedlloyd, Maersk and MARIN to develop a common methodology for speed trials.

• More than 30 participants including major shipyards, ship owners and classification societies participated in STA

  The JIP which was completed in 2006 resulted in:

        Recommended Practice for Speed Trials

        Recommended Analysis for Speed Trials

        STAIMO - speed trial analysis and reporting software.

• The participants in the STA-JIP decided to continue as STA-Group for the exchange of speed trial experiences and to guide further developments. IRS has joined this group in the year 2013.
