This research work gives an overview of the preparation of operational measures within the context of the Second Generation of Intact Stability (SGISC). SGISC application logic consists of two levels of vulnerability criteria and direct stability assessment which is known as Level-3 for the five stability failure modes. A provision to prepare the Operational Measures (OM) is proposed if a vessel fails to meet criteria, aimed at reducing stability risks. This study focused on the implementation of simplified Operational Guidance (OG) for a container ship, susceptible to one or more failure modes. For the sample ship, loading conditions vulnerable to specific failure modes have been identified using Level-1 and Level-2 criteria. Considering the resource-intensive computational demands of Level 3, operational measures have been developed based on Level-2 criteria assessment. The paper outlines the procedure for these measures and highlights their significance in guiding ship crews to make informed decisions during voyages using polar charts. Ultimately, this study presents the in-detailed development, implementation, and presentation of operational measures to help ship crew and masters.
